PROJECT «ALGOMATE»

Description of the project offered:

The first Russian pilot production line (full circle biofactory) to obtain a wide range of products for organic farming - biological plant protection and bio-fertilizers, feed additives for livestock, poultry and aquaculture - based on biomass of microalgae. Localization pilot production line - South part of Russian Federation. As a result of the project is expected to expand the range of produced by protein-vitamin and carotenoid products (PCB) for the needs of the cosmetic and food industries, as well as the scaling of production and expansion of sales geography.

The project team has grown on the base of the A.N. Bach Institute of Biochemistry, consists of experts in the field of microbiology, engineering, biotechnology and management.

The team has an extensive collection of useful soil microorganisms (including microalgae), own effective genetic marker systems for identification and differentiation (patent pending), experimental forms of biological products (patent pending formula) which underwent successful three-year field tests in farms South of Russain Federation (risk agriculture zone). As well as a number of technical developments in the design and development of automated cultivation module (know-how).

The development of microalgae biotechnology, including hardware-technological part, quickly allows switching and expanding range of target products, resulting in an increase in applications and reducing the commercial risks of the whole project.

The first and most “market-close” target product is a biological plant protection; further proposed to develop technologies for the production of feed additives from the biomass of microalgae; and at the third stage of the project - to obtain products with high purity, such as carotenoids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, etc…

Due to the agro-climatic conditions of South of RF was traditionally agrarian region. Currently, there are about 1 million. hectares of sown areas, or 37% of the peninsula. There are numerous types of cultivated agricultures, including fruit crops. However, the region is a zone of risky agriculture. On the one hand the combination of these features distinguishes it from other regions of Russia. They were designed to take into consideration the problem of increasing the efficiency of agriculture and preservation of the peninsula unique ecology.
