c-LEcta has identified and optimized highly beneficial enzyme activities for a multi-enzyme, one-pot reaction in the production of a high-value ingredient in cooperation with an undisclosed partner from the pharmaceutical industry. The economic technical milestone set for the product titer could be surpassed by more than 90%. 

With the start of the project c-LEcta has developed enzyme activities showing the desired activity and selectivity in the multistep synthesis of the complex molecule. The highly selective enzymes were now optimized to perfectly perform in a synchronized way with increased enzyme activities and improved robustness under challenging process conditions. Thus, in this highly competitive process product yields were increased by a multiple and it now allows to set up an economical process in industrial scale to produce the target ingredient product.
