The investigation of changes in physical properties of cells during malignant transformation is an emerging field in cancer research and cell biology. The annual "Physics of Cancer" scientific symposium intends to bring together researchers from the worldwide pioneering groups that are investigating the mechanisms underlying cancer progression. This year's meeting will take place in Leipzig, Germany from September 7-9, 2015.

Topics Included

  • Biomechanics (Biopolymers, Networks, Rheology, Cytoskeleton, Cell Shape)
  • Forces, Motion, Adhesion (Cell Motility, Assembly, Molecular Motors, Cell Division)
  • Oncology
  • ImaginThe scientific program consists of invited and contributed talks as well as a poster session. The detailed schedule will be announced in time.

Talks:
All talk sessions take place in the large auditory (ground floor, SR 1.1 to 1.3) of the Center for Biotechnology and Biomedicine (BBZ). Contributed talks are allocated 15 min (including discussion), whereas invited talks are allocated 20 min plus 10 min discussion.

Posters:
The session for poster presentation takes place in the foyer of the Center for Biotechnology and Biomedicine (BBZ). During this session, there will be a snack buffet for all participants. The poster boards will be marked with the number according to the scientific program. Posters must fit within a rectangle 90 cm wide and 120 cm high (DIN A0), portrait format. The material necessary to mount the poster (pins or "Poster Strips") will be provided.

Participants Registration

For registration, please use our online registration form. The number of participants is limited. Registrations that include an application for talk or poster presentation (see below) will be preferred. Together with the confirmation of your participation, you will receive all necessary information for payment of the conference fee.

Registration Deadline: August 31, 2015

Contribution Submission

In addition to your participation registration (above), you are encouraged to apply for a short talk or poster contribution. All abstracts will be reviewed by the organizing committee because only a limited number of people with extraordinary abstracts can be selected for actually giving a talk. In case a talk abstract is not accepted for oral presentation, the author usually gets the opportunity to present a poster instead. Notification of acceptance of a talk or poster will be send via e-mail shortly after the submission deadline has passed.

To submit an abstract, we strongly encourage you to use our submission webform which makes the evaluation process much easier. However, if you face any problems, you may alternatively submit your abstract via e-mail to the conference secretariat (see requirements below).

Submission Deadline: June 30, 2015
